=GraphiteColours said; "This is one of those amazing, intimate shots where you feel like you can just step straight into the picture. The lighting in particular is just amazing: it almost seems as if nature has cast a spotlight on the "dancing" elk!"

I'd just like to let everyone know that this is indeed what Europeans call an Elk.

Moose = European Elk.

And this is a wonderful shot!

Gorgeous! Love the lighting! Everything looks so crisp, clean, magical and yet untouched. The prancing step the moose is taking just makes it all the better :heart:

Amazing shot. Just to point it out cause you seem to have confused it as an elk, it is a moose lol. Once again, great job!

It is an european moose which would transfer to "elg" in norwegian (similar in swedish, šlg?) which could easily be miss translated to "elk". Scandinavian moose is pretty much the same as american only smaller.

Gorgeous shot! The lighting is fantastic, and the backdrop of those incredibly straight tress sets it all off perfectly. :) Faved!
On a side note, as someone else mentioned, I do believe that that is a moose and not an elk. I live in Alaska, and I've seen my fair share. ;)
Great work!

Scratch that, I'm so sorry! I realized that moose are referred to as elk in Sweden... Apologies. :doh: :surrender:
And "tress" should be "trees." :-/

This is undoubtedly a moose :) Regardless, this photograph is absolutely stunning. The colors are splendid and the composition is nearly flawless. :heart:

One question, though; specially regarding the moose, how much (if at all) did you spot-enhance the values of the photo? I'm surprised at how amazingly dark her body is compared her outline. By the angle of the sun, lack of shadows behind her(the moose), and the (comparative) lack of strong highlights on the foreground tree leaves, I'd almost think that she was photomanipulated in. I understand post-photo editing, but I think sometimes it can be overdone, and I was thrown off because the scene looked fake, before I really looked at it. I would love to see the original photograph if you have it on file! :)

Don't get my wrong, the capture is very powerful and I would love to have been in that field, just to experience the moment you've represented. Beautiful shot! :+fav:
